Our oldest Early Year students in Tigers class has enjoyed an engaging educational activity as part of their "farm-to-family" theme.
In their pursuit to explore the journey of food from farm to table, Tr Winny organized a hands on activity where students learned about the ingredients that contribute to a delightful treat.
A variety of ingredients sourced from both plants and animals included: flour (from wheat), sugar (from sugarcane), baking powder (a leavening agent), eggs (from hens), milk (from cows).
Throughout the process, students actively participated in measuring, mixing, adding and baking which allowed them to apply their maths and science skills in a real world context. They were fascinated to learn how each ingredient plays a crucial role in creating the final product and how these ingredients reach us from farms and factories.
The activity not only reinforced our curriculum but also fostered teamwork, creativity and a sense of accomplishment among the students as they enjoy the fruit of the work at the end of the class.
