How GGT Nurtures a Love for Reading from the Start

Teacher Lagum brings stories to life during read-aloud time with GGT’s Squirrels class (ages 3 and 4). At GGT, the love of reading is planted early—long before children learn to read independently. By immersing young minds in the world of books, we spark their imagination and curiosity from the very beginning.

One of GGT's core practices is a daily, dedicated read-aloud session for every student, regardless of age. This ritual not only makes stories come alive but also builds listening skills, vocabulary, and a deep affection for books. As students grow, those who are learning to read or already reading independently are encouraged to go beyond the page, engaging in discussions, developing critical thinking, and applying lessons learned from literature to real life.

This cultivated love for reading becomes the cornerstone for success in all other subjects—math, science, history, writing, and beyond—making the entire learning journey richer and more enjoyable.
