March 2024 “Esperanza Rising”

Turquoise class (8 to 10-year-old children) has been reading “Esperanza Rising” by Pam Munoz Ryan in our Independent Learning research unit – a historical story about a teenage girl forced to leave her home in Mexico to the US and faced with injustices as a migrant. Then the students made yarn dolls that have been described a few times throughout the book.
