Mr Sunday from Taka Taka Plastics visited the Turquoise and Coral class (of our upper primary students (8 to 12-year-old students) to prepare for their field trip to the Taka Taka Plastics Recycling Centre. Taka Taka is truly a unique enterprise in Gulu focussing on plastic re- and upcycling. They are teaching adults and children not to litter plastic bottles into the environment but to collect and reuse them to create new products. The students learned about the sorting process, cutting plastic into small pebbles and melting them into new forms.
